Orange, white, yellow, blue

Black, brown and Monarchs too

Flitting about from flower to bush

Doing way more than it might look

Sipping sweet nectar for energy to fly

Seeking salts and nutrients or a safe place to lay eggs

That provides food to the caterpillars once they arrive

Looking for mates, fluttering around in a courtship dance

Or regulating body temps among the warm sunny plants

Only a moment in their vast migration

Simple and elegant

Yet ever present
