POEM

You’re too emotional

You care too much

You’re too intuition driven

Be more analytical, tough, and data driven

Stay in this tiny box, keep your head down

Don’t express what you really think or feel

Just keep pushing until you drown

The goals keep changing

Just enough to keep you chasing the dream

The illusion of happiness, power and money

Dangled as reward, but never really seen

The elusive corporate game

Played alone, and never won

Then, in a single moment, it’s done

Slowly, over time I’ve come back to who I am

Speaking my truth as best that I can

For emotion is simply energy in motion

And as humans we’re meant to keep our hearts open

So maybe I am emotional, caring and intuition driven

Maybe I enjoy connection, expression and giving

But this is a much better way of living
